I am originaly from Switzerland, moved to the
Santa Barbara area in 1980. I have been
involved with aviation since 1983. I liked it so much that I started instructing in airplane that same year, then got involved with sailplane
and many other aspects of general aviation. In 1991 I started footlaunching ( hanggliding and paragliding)and again I found myself loving
it so much that I started a school. Now, ABC Airsports offers paragliding and hanggliding lessons,
tandem flights ( USHGA certified instructor).
I myself still actively teach general aviation . Experience (My flying "resume") Over 8400hrs of flight time in aircraft ranging from paragliders, hanggliders, sailplanes, single-engine land and sea airplanes, multi engine airplanes and business jets (Citation and Lear Jet). I am a FAA certified instructor for single, multi and instrument airplane, and hold an ATP in CE 500 ( Cessna Citation ). I am also a USHGA certified instructor for paraglider and hanglider, and tandem instructor rated in both. If you want to see me in action... check out my pictures. We are located in Solvang , California. We do most of our footlaunching training in the Santa Barbara area. We use the Mesa training hill for our primary training and the Santa Ynez mountains for our intermediate and advanced training. Fixed wing training is done at the Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez airport. Glider rides are done at the Santa Ynez airports, for Windhaven Glider Rides .
