| I am primarily a tenor sax and Yamaha WX11
player, never less I play other instruments, such as guitar, percussion... I started
playing clarinet at age 7 in my hometown of Geneva, Switzerland. I took lessons from
the Geneva conservatory of music until I moved to the U.S. in 1980. At that time I
discontinued playing woodwinds and "switched" to the guitar. I
played in numerous bands, including early hardcore punk bands like "Sexual
Buffet", "Vertical Plan"... Then I learned to play a little better and got
into the rock/metal scene with a couple more garage bands...
Then I realized I missed playing a more challenging type music and pick up the tenor
sax in the mid 80's. Started practicing until my lips would fall off... went to
Santa Barbara City College where I obtained an A.A. in music. Such a great place, I had
the chance to "live" there for 3 years and play in combos, big band, concert
band and anything else I could get into...
I spent the next few years playing but also spending a lot of time flying my hangglider
and paraglider, which can seriously get in the way of practicing...

In 1997 I got "hit over the head" and realized the place music really had in
my life and how it affected the way I live.
Locked myself up and went back into heavy practicing, lots of freeform, then met in 1998
with Dana Holt and stared collaborating on the Manthing project.
Total opening of a new musical dimension. Awareness of the importance of rhythm and
sub-rhythms. All recording were done at Dana's Studio in Morro Bay and is available for
sale.
I also had the chance to play big band music with the
great Big Band, "The Starduster", led by Charlie Disparte. Learned a lot
from him, counting in two... phrasing...
In 2000 I started playing with the Superfreaks, rock/funk
jam band in which I mostly play the Yamaha WX11 wind controller. I can make it sound
like a electric guitar, a flute, a mammoth... or another 2000 wild sounds... We recorded a
full jam a Orange Whip Studio in Santa Barbara on Jan. 20 & 21st 2001. This recording
is also available for sale.
I also play regularly with the lighthouse jazz quartet,
a jazz combo, which is available for bookings.
When I am not playing my saxophone, I mess around with the guitar, hand drums, keyboard
and flute... I love music software and all the programs available for recording,
sequencing and practicing.
